Neil, I am really really sorry for all the involved. Your family is paying a high price for a situation that it did not create, and so is the kid, that has such a difficult challenge ahead, trying and overcoming a situation that probably is not a choice but a condition. In Brazil, a few months ago there was an article about kids no one wanted and the stories were all just too sad, from all the 8 cases they focused, only one ended well with a boy that grew up into a healthy happy man. Easy answers? There aren´t. I think you all have done all you could, probably him too, but some "some of the beasts in my chest roar louder than my voice trying to drown them". I just wish the best for you, your kids and for the boy, now that the whole thing unfurled into such a heart wrenching story.
